Shinichi Kishi

General Manager, Sustainability Management & Development Dpt., Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company

Shinichi Kishi is General Manager at Meiji Yasuda and is responsible for managing and developing the corporate strategy on SDGs/ESG which includes promoting an insurance version of financial inclusion. He also serves as a member of Sustainability Standards Advisory Council Japan. Shinichi worked within the secretariat of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) from 2006 to 2009.

Before assuming his current position in July 2021, Shinichi has held various key positions at Meiji Yasuda. He worked on planning and promoting Meiji Yasuda’s overseas business including M&A negotiation to acquire a U.S. life insurer as a project manager. More recently, as Chief Regulatory Expert, he negotiated with regulatory authorities on behalf of the insurance industry.

He made presentations on relevant issues at many occasions including OECD/ADBI Roundtable and East Asian Insurance Congress.

Shinichi holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Kyoto University and an MBA degree from the International University of Japan. He is qualified as a U.S. Certified Public Accountant.
