Peter Windsor

Senior Financial Sector Expert, International Monetary Fund

Peter Windsor is a Senior Financial Sector Expert specializing in insurance supervision and regulation. He joined the Fund in February 2018 having previously worked for the International Association of Insurance Supervisors where he coordinated the development of ComFrame and the global Insurance Capital Standard. Prior to the IAIS, Peter spent 15 years at the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority and one of its predecessor organizations supervising across all financial sectors – pensions, banking, life insurance and general insurance. In the last 4 years with APRA, he specialized in general insurance and managed the general insurance policy development team.

Since joining the Fund, Peter has been involved in delivering technical assistance and has been involved in policy work through participating in and monitoring developments at the IAIS and developing Fund policy on prudential regulation of insurance. He has completed work on FSAPs for Canada, France, US, UK and Japan.

Peter has a Bachelor of Commerce and Graduate Diploma in Advanced Accounting from the University of Queensland. He has a Graduate Diploma in Applied Investment and Finance from FINSIA in Australia. He completed the CPA Program through Deakin University. He also has an MBA from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
