Women’s Insurance Program Global Lead, International Finance Corporation

Fatou Giwa heads the Women’s Insurance Program at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Bank Group. She leads and oversees the strategic development and execution of initiatives aimed at increasing access to insurance and employment opportunities for women in emerging countries, globally. This includes business development initiatives and partnerships, program implementation, knowledge management, and client engagement.

Fatou has over 25 years of experience in development issues, including jobs, gender, SGBV, peace and security, SME banking, financial inclusion, and private sector development, with both the World Bank and UN Women. She has a background in leading programs, capacity building projects & advisory services and mobilizing funds.

Fatou holds a master’s degree (DESS) in Economy Policy Management and in Banking, Insurance and Finance.
