Fred is the Co-Founder & Co-CEO of Bowtie, the Hong Kong’s first virtual insurance company.

Bowtie’s mission is to enable a new generation of consumers to access health insurance directly, making insurance simpler and affordable. Bowtie has raised more than USD $50m from Sun Life, Mitsui & Co and other reputable investors.

Fred is a serial entrepreneur who previously co-founded two insurtech startups with a total fundraising amount of USD $89m. Prior to his first start-up, Fred was a consulting actuary in EY where he advised insurance clients on risk, capital, investment and financial reporting in Chicago, London, Toronto and Hong Kong.

Fred is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and an Honorary Fellow of the Financial Technologist (FFT). He is an Honouree of the Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) HKU Chapter and holds a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics (Double Major in Actuarial Science & Statistics) from the University of Waterloo.
