Andrea Montague
Chief Risk Officer, Aviva
Andrea joined Aviva in 2020 as Group Chief Financial Controller and became Group Chief Risk Officer* in November 2021. She is a member of the Group Executive Committee and reports to Aviva Group CEO, Amanda Blanc.
Andrea is one of the few female CROs in the FTSE 100 and is responsible for Aviva’s Risk, Actuarial, Compliance, Financial Crime and Regulatory Engagement functions.
Before joining Aviva, Andrea worked at Royal London for three years as Deputy Group Finance Director responsible for external reporting, planning and performance and for leading Solvency II development and implementation. Before that she spent twelve
years at Standard Life in senior finance and audit leadership roles, including three years as Group Chief Internal Auditor and three years as Finance Shared Services Director where she led actuarial, finance, risk and operational teams responsible for external and internal reporting and controls.
She is joint sponsor of Aviva’s Balance community that supports gender parity and is a mentor for the 30% club. Andrea trained and qualified with PwC and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland. She has an MA in Accountancy with European Languages from Heriot Watt University.
