Methodologies and frameworks

The IAIS provides various tools and assessment methodologies for its implementation assessment activities. 

The Handbook for Assessing Implementation of IAIS Supervisory Material contains guidance and principles for assessments and reviews undertaken by the IAIS, and is useful for assessors, assessed jurisdictions and experts seeking information on how assessments and reviews are undertaken.

The IAIS adopted an assessment methodology that should be followed when carrying out an assessment of a jurisdiction’s observance of the ICPs. The Assessment Methodology for ICPs and ComFrame can be found here.

Reports on outcomes of previous assessments carried out before 2019, including from the previous Self-Assessment and Peer Reviews (SAPR), can be found in the “Publications” section of the website.
