Implementation assessment

Globally consistent and effective implementation of the IAIS’ supervisory material is core to our strategic objectives. The IAIS supports its members through various implementation assessment activities.

One of the key components of the IAIS’ implementation work is an enhanced assessment program designed to evaluate the level of observance with the IAIS supervisory material. This program includes the following elements:

• Wide-spread peer reviews
• In-depth member assessments
• Targeted jurisdictional assessments (use for Holistic Framework implementation assessments)
• Easy-to-use self-assessments tool

Peer Review Process

Peer reviews are an important thematic assessment tool for a wide range of IAIS members and are conducted regularly for different ICPs.

Member Assessment Programme

The Member Assessment Programme is an in-depth assessment of the ICPs’ implementation, including supervisory practices, in an IAIS jurisdiction.

Holistic Framework implementation assessment

Utilising various tools, including targeted jurisdictional assessments, the implementation assessment of the Holistic Framework supervisory material is key for supervisors to capture the potential build-up of systemic risk.

Self-Assessment Tool

The Self-Assessment Tool is quick and easy-to-use for an IAIS jurisdiction for an initial orientation of its level of observance with the ICPs.
