Session replays, summaries and photos of the 2023 IAIS Annual Conference are now available
Last week, the 2023 IAIS Annual Conference welcomed over 400 participants from 100 jurisdictions to Tokyo, Japan. We encourage you to explore our event page for an in-depth look at the insights shared during the conference, including summaries of the sessions, video replays and images.
The event featured distinguished speakers, engaging panels and thought-provoking roundtables to explore pivotal themes surrounding the societal role of insurance and the role of supervisors in fostering inclusivity within the global insurance sector.
Participants were immersed in dynamic conversations covering a broad spectrum of topics, including evolving risks in the insurance sector, protection gaps, consumer needs and outcomes, and data transparency and disclosure related to tackling climate risks. Roundtable discussions delved into emerging consumer risks, protection gaps, financial inclusion, and the evolution of actuarial skills needed for effective insurance supervision.
The IAIS Executive Committee leadership provided insights into the progress against the IAIS Roadmap and there were two special roundtables centred around the IAIS five-year Strategic Plan 2025-2029.
The Annual Conference was preceded by IAIS committee meetings and the Annual General Meeting from 6-9 November, with important agreements made on several key projects. This includes the launch of a consultation on climate risk supervisory guidance, the finalised updated Stakeholder Engagement and Consultation Policy, the Global Insurance Market Report, and an interim update on our work on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Learn more about these topics and more on our News page over the coming weeks.
